Foreign Students’ Job Experience Raises Earning Potential in Canada





Foreign graduates who seek to Study and Work in Canada are earning more after completing their education. Such students have got a better understanding of labor market of their choice of the education field, have got strong proficiency in the language and have developed contacts in their workforce.
The research was conducted to specifying the reasons for income gap between foreign Students of Canada, Canada born citizens and Overseas Educated Immigrants. The study discloses that the key of the market value of work and Education Experience of the country in earning prospective of foreign students in the country.

The study was administered to reply two key queries, they are

Does a foreign student earn more than the University Graduate who is born in Canada?
Does a foreign student have bigger income benefit over Overseas Educated Immigrants?

Important findings from the study

- Foreign immigrants have fewer earnings than the born population in Canada, but higher incomes than Immigrants who studied Overseas.
- An important factor that distinguishes foreign student’s post-immigration income from the income of those who are born in the country and had Educated Overseas if they had a well-paid employment in the country prior becoming Canada Permanent Residents.
- Few reasons behind the income gap of Overseas Immigrants were because of the fact that they spend a lot of time to pursue extra education.
- There is an important reduction in income gap overtime from the initial year of Canada PR to 10 years after permanent residency.
An important factor that distinguishes post-immigration income of foreign students who had come to Study in Canada form the citizen born in Canada and overseas educated immigrants is whether foreign students held a well-paid job prior becoming Canada permanent residents.
 As per the statistics, there might be few reasons why foreign students who had come to Study in Canada are at hindrance of getting well-paid employment or growing work history in Canada. And they are as follows:
Foreign students often pursue an education at post-graduation level that results in fewer years in the workforce.  Few foreign students started their Education in Canada at an older age and took a long time to complete their education. Few of them might find it difficult to search a good job after completing graduation because of the reasons like a lack of language skills and social networking.
The statistics show that it is important to understand the factors that constrain the foreign students from availing high-income jobs after completing Education in Canada.
