Saskatchewan reopens its Immigrant Nominee Program

The province of Saskatchewan, is known as Canada’s sunniest province. Set amidst the prairie region of Canada, the province of Saskatchewan is a fast growing economic hub with a rich historical past and modern infrastructure. The province is growing popular among international immigrants, who come to the province to build their lives. In keeping in line with the provincial nominee programs of other provinces under the Express Entry program, Saskatchewan had introduced the Saskatchewan immigrant nominee program to welcome immigrants to the province. The province has now reopened its Express Entry international skilled workers immigrant nominee program, known as the Saskatchewan immigrant nominee program. The program has reopened with a list of 43 occupations which are currently in demand. The Saskatchewan immigrant nominee program is a sub-category of the Express Entry immigration selection system.
About the Express Entry Program
The Express Entry Program was started by the Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Canada’s immigration authority to streamline and expedite the process of immigration to Canada. The Express Entry is an electronic system of selecting immigrants out of a pool of immigrants who want to obtain permanent residency in Canada. The Express Entry program is used to handle applications for permanent residence for the Federal Skilled Worker’s Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Canadian Experience Class. In order to apply under the Express Entry program, a candidate has to first create a profile, as a part of which he will be providing information about various aspects of his life such as education, work experience, language skills and other details. The candidate is assigned points under a comprehensive ranking score (CRS) to each candidate based on the information provided. The candidate is then placed in a pool of other applicants from which a draw is made periodically. The applicants who get the highest ranking scores are invited to apply for permanent residence.
About Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program
The Saskatchewan immigrant nominee program allows eligible candidates, who are already in the Express Entry pool, and who have valid work experience in any of the occupations listed under the program to submit application for a provincial nomination under the Saskatchewan immigrant nominee program. A person who obtains a nomination is granted 600 additional CRS points under the Express Entry program. This will result in a definitive invitation to apply (ITA) in a subsequent draw from the pool. A person who applies under the program does not need a job offer as the Saskatchewan immigrant nominee program operates on a first come first-served basis. The Saskatchewan immigrant nominee program will be accepting 600 new applications during the intake period.  The new list of occupations has been increased from 17 to 43. Due to which those applicants who were ineligible for the Saskatchewan immigrant nominee program will become eligible to apply now. Out of the 43 occupations listed under the Saskatchewan immigrant nominee program 20 do not require any licenses to be considered.
