Incentives to Study in Australia in Regional Universities

The executive director of Universities in Australia, Ms. Catriona Jackson announced these measures and stated that they would give various incentives to international students who show their intention study at regional universities in the country, which would include scholarships specifically instituted for them as well as the benefit of working in Australia for an additional year on their poststudy work visa.

Ms. Jackson expressed hope that the proposed incentives would greatly add to the appeal of regional universities for students who have an intention to study in Australia. She further added that universities would be given autonomy to decide how they would fund the programs. The universities would need to find a balance to get funds for supporting the program, while ensuring that, other vital educational programs are not made to suffer at the expense of this. The Director of universities further opined that all regional campuses in Australia were outstanding in their performance and academic standards, and that they were keen to make sure that  they were able to make their best efforts in order to attract talented and meritorious students from across the world, to study, not just in Australia but the more rural and regional parts of Australia. The launch of these incentives would help to accomplish this aim.  Universities would be eligible to award scholarships to students which would be funded partially by the government and would be awarded to deserving students from both the domestic and international student Diaspora.
