The Government of Yukon works with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to bring foreign, skilled workers and business owners to Yukon. This allows us to nominate qualified foreign nationals to the federal government for permanent residency. Find out about working in Yukon.
Candidates wishing to settle in Yukon and become Canadian permanent residents can apply through four categories:
1.       Yukon Express Entry
2.       Yukon Skilled Worker
3.       Yukon Critical Impact Worker
4.       Yukon Business Nominee Program

1) Yukon Express Entry 
The YUKON PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM offers an Express Entry adjusted program for skilled workers with a permanent, full time job offer or employment in Yukon is known as Yukon Express Entry immigration to Canada. 
Yukon Express Entry Skilled Worker: Candidate Requirements
·        Meet the minimum requirements for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
·        Be accepted into IRCC’s Express Entry pool and have an Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
·        Have the required settlement funds to support themselves and their families in Canada (even if their families are not coming with them).
·       Have a valid, permanent, full-time job offer from an employer in Yukon.
·        Plan to live in Yukon.
Yukon Express Entry Skilled Trades: Candidate Requirements
·        Meet the minimum requirements for the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
·        Be accepted into IRCC’s Express Entry pool and have an EXPRESS ENTRY profile number and job seeker validation code.
·        Have the required settlement funds to support themselves and their families in Canada (even if their families are not coming with them).
·        Have a valid, permanent, full-time job offer from an employer in Yukon.
·        Possess a certificate of qualification in the required skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority. To get a certificate in Yukon, the Apprenticeship and Trades person Qualifications authority will assess the candidate’s training, trade experience and skills to decide if they are eligible to sit an exam.
·        Plan to live in Yukon.
Yukon Express Entry Canada Experience Class: Candidate Requirements
·        Meet the minimum requirements for the federal Canadian Experience Class.
·        Be accepted into IRCC’s Express Entry pool and have an Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
·        Have a valid, permanent, full-time job offer from an employer in Yukon.
·        Plan to live in Yukon.
2) Yukon Skilled Worker Category
The Yukon Skilled Worker Category targets candidates for jobs in NOC skill levels 0, A and B
Requirements
·      Minimum of one year directly related work experience for the position being nominated.
·      Education and work experience that satisfies all requirements of the job as per the criteria specified in the National Occupational Classification. Minimum high school completion.
·    For skill levels 0 and A, candidates require the following minimum language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing depending on the test used:
                              i. CELPIP (English): Level 7
                              ii. IELTS (English): Level 6
                             iii. TEF (English): Level 4
·    For skill level B, candidates require the following minimum language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing depending on the test used:
                                i. CELPIP (English): Level 5
                              ii. IELTS (English): Level 5
                              iii. TEF (English): Level 3
3) Yukon Critical Impact Worker Category
The Yukon Critical Impact Worker Category targets candidates for jobs in NOC skill levels C and D.
Requirements
·       Minimum of six months directly related work experience for the position being nominated.
·       Education and work experience that satisfies all requirements of the job as per the criteria specified in the National Occupational Classification. Minimum high school completion.
·       For skill levels 0 and A, candidates require the following minimum language skills in listening speaking, reading and writing depending on the test used:
                                i. CELPIP (English): Level 4
                              ii. IELTS (English): Level 4
                             iii. TEF (English): Level 3
4) Yukon Business Nominee Program
The Yukon Business Nominee Program allows entrepreneurs to own and operate their business in Yukon. Candidates initially come to Yukon on a two-year work permit, before being nominated for permanent residence if they successfully establish their business.
Yukon Business Nominee Program: Requirements
·        Legally-acquired net worth of at least $500,000 documented and verified by a Yukon accounting firm.
·   Legally-acquired minimum of $300,000 in liquid assets documented and verified by a Yukon accounting firm.
·        Invest at least $300,000 in capital investments for the business in the first 2 years.
           i. This does not include any capital investments made before acceptance into the Yukon Business Nominee Program.
                  ii. Capital investments include purchases such as property or equipment. It does not include purchases such as a house, vehicles that are only partially for the business and operational or maintenance expenses.
·        Score at least 65 points on the assessment grid.
·    Minimum high school education. If your business requires more education, you must also provide proof of these credentials.
·        At least 3 years of entrepreneurial or business management experience.
·        At least 5 years work experience relevant to the business.
·        Not be a refugee or have an active request for refugee status.
·        Have never been denied immigration to Canada.
·        Have no active applications for any other provincial or territorial nominee program;
·        Intend to permanently live in Yukon;
·        Agree to live in Yukon with dependents, if applicable, while managing and investing in the business.
·        Hold a position within the business of National Occupational Classification 0 or A.
·        Have not yet purchased or started the business in Yukon at the time application.
Yukon Business Nominee Program: Business Eligibility
The business must:
·        Be a new business or a purchase of an existing Yukon business.
·        Be managed by the candidate.
·        Not be a passive investment.
·        Belong to any of the following strategic sectors:
                    i. Information technology
                  ii. Manufacturing
                 iii. Value-added processing
                iv. Forestry
                  v. Tourism products, attractions, services and facilities
                vi. Energy
               vii. Mining or mineral development
             viii.  Agriculture
                ix. Cultural industries
                  x. Film and video production
·      NOT belong to any of the following strategic sectors:
                   i. Passive investments
ii. Retail, wholesale operations, distribution operation
iii. Restaurants
iv. Financial services
v. Business, consultation and personal services
vi. Most professional services
vii. Real estate
viii. Holding companies
ix. Gas stations
Yukon Business Nominee Program: Process
1. Applications that meet the program’s requirements are placed in a pool of potential candidates for six months.
2. Candidates selected from the pool are asked to submit documents to verify the information contained in the original application. If the application meets the eligibility requirements, candidates are invited for an in-person interview in Yukon.
3. After the interview, the business proposal is assessed by Yukon officials Approved candidates will receive support in obtaining a two-year work permit from the federal government to establish the business in Yukon.
4. After two years, candidates meeting the requirements are nominated for permanent residence.
