The student direct stream is a fast-track program for a study permit for Canada. Unlike regular student visas, SDS will allow eligible students to get the visa approved within 3-4 weeks. What is a
Guaranteed Investment Certificate?
A guaranteed investment certificate is a kind
of student investment from where you can get confirmed returns. For this, you
need to open a Canadian account from any approved bank online. And it can be
used once you enter Canada. The bank will hold your GIC in your student or
investment account and you can draw the amount all the time or lump sum once.
The remaining amount will be distributed for all 12 months.
Who can
apply for Student Direct Stream?
Below are the eligibility requirements which
need to be fulfilled to apply
for Student Direct Stream for Indian Students.
1. Be a legal resident of any one of the
following countries
· India
· China
· Morocco
· Pakistan
· Philippines
· Senegal
· Vietnam
2. Holder of acceptance letter from
post-secondary DLI
3. Should not be a resident of Canada by
the time of applying to SDS
4. Proof of first-year course fee payment
to the university
5. Holder of Guaranteed Investment
Certificate of CAN $1000
6. Minimum band 6 in the IELTS test in
all sections as well. Or the score which is equivalent to the CLB 7.
The candidates who fulfill the eligibility
criteria need to submit the required documents like DLI Acceptance letter,
IELTS score card, GIC, educational certificates, etc.
