types of canada visitor visa

Canada Tourist Visa also recognized as Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), permits people from foreign nationals to enter and travel, study, or work for a limited period.  There are two types of Visitor Visa for Canada Immigration.

  •   Single-Entry Visa
  •   Multiple-Entry Visa

What is a Single-Entry Visa?

With a Single-Entry Visa, visitors can enter Canada only once. During immigration, if all the details of the applicant met the requirements to enter Canada, an expiry date will be stamped on the passport of the applicant. The same date will be stamped on the work permit or study permit if applicable.

The maximum permitted time for Single-Entry Visa is six months.

What is a Multiple-Entry Visa?

A multiple-entry visa allows the applicant to enter Canada multiple times in certain period like six months or more. The visa expiration will be longer for Multiple-Entry Visa than a Single-Entry Visa.

In general, any Canada tourist visa validity will be 10 years or a month before passport expiry date. In any exceptional cases, the validity can be extended.

Single-Entry Visa Vs Multiple-Entry Visa:

Single Entry or Multiple, each visa has its benefits depending on the travel purpose. If one needs to travel to any other country like the USA from Canada and come back to Canada before leaving for their country, a Multiple Entry Visa will be suggested for them. In such a situation, if a Single Entry visa is applied, they need to apply for Visa all over again when they are coming back to Canada.

So, better to choose Multiple-Entry visa, because if in case of emergency you need to travel back and forth, Multiple-Entry Visa will be helpful.

What do Canadians do on Christmas day?

Canadian Christians certainly have a day off. So they prefer family gatherings. All the members of the family go to church and enjoy singing special Christmas carols and have a great festive meal at home quietly. They also exchange gifts and enjoy the surprises. The traditions differ from family to family. Some families believe in a mythical figure called Santa Claus who rides a sleigh pulled by a reindeer. He will have bags full of gifts, candy in Xmas stockings or gifts under the Christmas tree and slips the gifts through the chimneys. The most popular gifts could be toys, candies, clothes and many more. They take the time to open the gifts after the church service to enjoy those surprises. Some parts of Canada observe snowfall from the month of November to January.

Back ground of Christmas

Jesus Christ was born as a baby in Bethlehem. Mary comes all the way in her full term pregnancy to Bethlehem for Census and gives birth to Jesus in a stable because, bible records that there was no room for Him in the Inn. So He was laid in the Manger and wrapped in the clothes. The cold nights where the Shepherds received the birth of Jesus made the festival to be celebrated in the coldest season of the year. Other Christians following Eastern Orthodox tradition celebrate Christmas on January 7th because it is marked on Armenian Apostolic Church Calendar. The immigrants to Canada mostly mix with Canadian Christians and take part in every blissful moment.
