Quacquarelli Symonds, world renowned
publication based in UK, has released its latest university ranking report for
the year 2020. The ranking which are looked forward to by students and
educators has seen a lot of changes in the rankings and many universities have
moved up or down the list. The most prominent change came from Australia, which
saw more than 60 percent of UNIVERSITIES IN AUSTRALIA move up
in the rankings. In terms of actual numbers 24 of the country’s 35 universities
went up in the rankings.
Study in Australia Performs Better Than Other Countries
Australia has performed much
better than countries like US and UK.
USA performed dismally in contrast with more than 50 percent of US universities,
declining on the rankings for 2020. UK did not do well either with nearly 60
percent of its universities going down in the ranking scale. The World
University Rankings ranks the top 1,000 universities in the world, on the basis
of their academic course, student/teacher ratio, graduate employability,
research, and diversity & inclusion.
Universities in Australia have
seen a large number of improvements across the broad range of indicators, which
include academic reputation, which saw 25 out of 35 universities improve on the
same, the number of citations accorded to the faculty, which helps to measures the
research impact of each university, and the international student ratio.
Both USA and UK saw a sharp fall
in international student ratio with more than 120 of the US universities and
more than 50 universities in UK, falling from their previous year’s positions. This
clearly shows that universities in
Australia have been encouraging towards a more global student community.
Australia is home to two out of
the best ranked cities in the world for students, which is probably one of the
reasons for its popularity among students from across the world. Students who
plan to study in an English speaking country are OPTING
TO STUDY IN AUSTRALIA, not just a second choice or substitute for
studying in UK and USA, but as a first option. In the previous year more than
half a million international students chose Australia as their ideal higher education
destination.
