Hong Kong’s General Employment policy visa is a special category work permit to get foreign skilled workers on board. This program is also called Employment for professionals. Eligibility Checklist for Hong Kong's Work Visa

1.  A clean and zero criminal records are mandatory to maintain to apply for a General Employment policy visa for Hong Kong. This is not just for this visa, but also other Immigration pathways to Hong Kong.

2.    Applicants must have an excellent academic background. A graduate degree is important to be eligible for this visa but if the applicants don’t hold a degree, then they can submit any relevant experience or education.  

3.      Applicant must apply to the job vacancy which is genuine instead of created position.

4.      The applicant must submit proof of valid job offer letter from a Hong Kong Employer.

5.      The job should be relevant to the candidate’s academic background and work experience.

6.   The Hong Kong employer needs to submit valid proof that there is no availability of an immediate local employee to hire for that position.

7.   The Salary package, insurance facilities, income, accommodation, etc should be at the market level for employees in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Documents Required for Hong Kong's General Employment Policy Visa

1.       Duly completed Employment visa application form

2.     Valid passport of the candidate. If the applicant is a resident of Hong Kong, the passport should have the recent arrival stamp of the Hong Kong government.

3.       Proof of residence in the home country or overseas

4.       Proof of academic qualifications and certifications done if any.

5.       Proof of work experience related to a job offer from the Hong Kong employer.
