Australia is undeniably one of
the most popular immigration destinations in the world, on account of its
tremendous career opportunities, modern infrastructure, women’s empowerment and
green ecofriendly environment. However, the process of immigration to Australia
can be confusing to the laypersons, who are unable to decide between the
different types of visa options at their disposal.
For instance, many people are
confused about the Australia
subclass 189 visa and are not able to assess whether they are eligible
for the same, and if so, how likely they are to get the visa
Determine Your Points for Australia 189 Visa
The eligibility conditions for
each visa can be different with respect to education and professional
experience
Education
There is not a significant amount
of difference in the procedure and points calculation for both types of visa,
with respect to educational qualifications. Both visa streams grant you more
points, the higher your education. For instance, a candidate with a PhD can
earn up to 20 points, whereas a candidate who has completed his Post graduate
degree can earn up to 15 points.
Work Experience
The Australian government
attaches a lot of importance to the actual work experience of a candidate in
deciding whether or not to grant a visa. If you are applying for the Australia subclass 189 visa, then the following
will be applicable to you
- 1. Your work experience needs to assess by an appropriately designated assessing authority in order to be eligible
- 2. Your work experience will be granted points slab-wise based on the years of experience you have. For egg, persons having 8 to 10 years of experience are granted 15 points, while persons having less than three years of experience are not granted any points under this category
Age
Your age can be of crucial
importance when your points for the 189 visas are being calculated. You will
need to be less than 45 years of age in order to qualify. The most benefit will
accrue to you, if your age is between 18-24 years, in which case you can expect
to get 25 points
The government will total up all
the points you have earned in the above categories to get your total points and
if they add up to be 60 or more then you are eligible to submit your Expression
of Interest
