Canada Express Entry Enables Semi-Skilled Workers to Apply For PNP

The immigration authority of Canada, IRCC has announced the creation of 2,000 additional spaces under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which continues to be one of the most popular pathways for IMMIGRATION TO CANADA. This increase is aimed at providing greater opportunities for foreign workers, who are already working in Canada at the intermediate skill level (National Occupational Classification Code C) to apply for permanent residence, through Canada Express Entry

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), stated that the 2,000additional categories for temporary semi-skilled workers, who are listed under the   NOC C occupations, would lead to a net increase in the instances of semi-skilled workers who are able to apply for permanent residence in Canada through Express Entry

Need for Additional Spaces Under PNP For Canada Express Entry

Hitherto workers who were employed as semi-skilled workers under the NOC C category of occupations were not eligible to apply for Canada immigration Express Entry until and unless they were able to amass enough recent work experience under the occupations, NOC O, A or B, which are listed under the skilled occupations category by the government of Canada.
The occupations listed under the NOC C category are considered to be jobs that can be performed with intermediate skills that usually do not require more than high school level of education and and/or training that has been provided on the job. The following types of workers can benefit from the newly added spaces
1.       Butchers
2.       Workers in food & beverage industry
3.       Retail salespeople
4.       Truck drivers
5.       Office staff
According to the proposed changes, the Provincial governments in Canada will be able to decide the category of workers, who can be nominated through their respective CANADA PNP PROGRAMS
Canada’s Immigration Minister, Ahmed Hussen has stated that there is a need to provide opportunities for temporary international workers and empower them to address long-term labour shortages, while   contributing to the growth of the provincial as well as federal economy.  The immigration minister further acknowledged that there is a growing need to provide opportunities for international workers in order to enable them to transition to permanent residence quickly and easily – and the creation of these additional spaces under the Provincial Nominee Program is intended to do precisely just the same.
The new PNP spaces for CANADA EXPRESS ENTRY, are also expected to complement the other immigration programs run by the Canadian government, such as the initiative to renew the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program as well as the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot that has recently been introduced.
