189 VISA as a skilled tradesman, then you would need to follow
these simple steps.
Step 1: Determine your line of trade
You should check your line of
trade and its corresponding reference to see whether your occupation is listed
among the in demand occupations that is determined by the government of
Australia.
Step 2: Obtain an OTSR
In order to get a full license that
enables you to work as a skilled tradesman in Australia, you will need to prove
that you have the required skills with an Offshore Technical Skills Record or OTSR.
Step 3: Apply for a provisional license
Once you complete step 2 and
obtain an OTSR, you can then apply for a provisional license. With this license
you will be able to work as an apprentice with a tradesman, having a full
license for 12 months. You will also need to go through a safety standard
training course at this stage.
Step 4: Apply for Australian qualification
Once you successfully complete
your training, you will need to apply for an Australian certification that
qualifies you to practice the trade in Australia.
Step 5: Apply for a full license
Once you receive your
qualification certificate successfully, you are eligible to apply for a full
license to practice in Australia as a skilled tradesman.
You will be able to migrate to
Australia when you receive your provisional license. You can also migrate while
you are applying for the license, but you cannot work in Australia without a
provisional license.
