For many students, studying in the United Kingdom, can bring many uncertainties with regards to funding. Whether you are a current student or are PLANNING TO STUDY IN UK, you are probably thinking about working while you study in order to fund your education. Study in UK for Indian Students – Global Tree

Tips to Work While You Study in UK

1. You cannot freelance or be self employed
One important caveat when you look for a job as a student in the United Kingdom is that you cannot work as a self-employed person or freelance. You should take care of this point and not sign any contract with a company that asks you to work as a freelancer. When you look for a job, make sure that you do not accept any job that asks you to be self-employed.
2. Get a right to work check list
Ask your course officer to provide a right to work check list, if you are planning to work at seasonal jobs during course holidays or vacations. In these periods you are allowed to work for more than 20 hours per week. A right to work checklist can keep you informed about the officially acceptable vacation work time for your university.
3. Be Aware of your rights
You have the right as a student to work for not more than 20 hours, when your class is in session. You should beware your employer making you work for more than this period as it may create problems for your visa.
4. Do not lose patience
For many students, the search for the job does not take fruit immediately. In this case its important, to maintain your confidence and patience. You should not feel disheartened, otherwise it may even affect your studies. It is important to keep your studies as your first priority.

Brexit Impact Universities Woo Indian Students to Study in UK

The United Kingdom has been a popular destination for students from all over the world for the past few decades. However, with the increasing interest in location such as France, Italy, Singapore and New Zealand, the number of international students who plan to STUDY IN UK is slowly dwindling. To cap this, a number of leading universities in the United Kingdom are struggling with a serious cash flow problem on account of the Brexit, which is expected to come into effect from March 2019. On account of this more and more universities are changing their strategies to include more international students in their admissions plans and turn to students from countries like India and China, who pay higher fees than the local in resident students. Many education experts believe that Indian students would be the frontrunners of this influx of foreign students, with some even predicting that their numbers could surpass those of British students in the foreseeable future.

study in uk for indian students

According to Anton Moscatelli, the vice-chancellor of Glasgow University, top universities in the United Kingdom would probably recruit a far larger number of overseas students to study in UK in order to meet with funding problems. The Brexit deal would cut off the educational ties between Britain and the rest of Europe and would face an immediate shortfall of more than 1 billion GBP leaders say it would be "catastrophic", with the UK cut out of 1.3 billion pounds of EU research funding and a collapse in EU student numbers.
Additionally, an imminent educational review by the government of the United Kingdom is expected to recommend that undergraduate tuition fees be lowered from their existing rates to GBP annually. This measure is expected to improve the admissions from overseas students by at least fifty percent. Universities in UK are making a concerted effort to boost their overseas student strength. Exter university for example, is already in the race and is seeking to boost overseas student numbers by up to seven per cent according to its vice-chancellor, Steve Smith, who stated that universities in UK barely made ends meet when they relied only UK residential students. Almost all colleges in UK are seeking international students who aspire to study in UK.
In another measure, that is likely to have a positive impact on the flow of international students to the UK, the government is expected to change visa rules to make it easier for international students to stay and work in UK after graduation. Brexit and its impact on study in UK – Global Tree

Brexit or Britain’s exit from the European Union which was voted by a referendum held across UK is expected to come into effect from March 2019. When the policy comes into effect it may have some significant consequences for immigrants as well as students who come from different countries to study in UK. We take a look at some of the possible effects of Brexit on international students.

Will I be affected by Brexit?

If you are thinking of studying in UK and are not from a European country then it is very unlikely that Brexit will have an impact on your admission to UK. The requirements for visa as well as the selection criteria and amount of tuition fees would probably not see a drastic change.  However there can be an indirect effect on the fees charged by universities on account of the fluctuations in the British Pound brought about by policy changes. The GBP has lost nearly 15 percent of its exchange value against   the Euro since the confirmation of Brexit, which may indicate further decline when Brexit comes into effect.

International students in UK

According to many university heads as well as educators International students who seek to study in UK would still be welcomed, however there may be few new policies which aim to reduce immigration from both workers and students. This can lead to a lowering in demand for education in UK and an increase in demand for studies in other European countries.  Moreover if immigration policy becomes stricter and academics find it difficult to immigrate to UK, then the quality of research and teaching in UK can decline. However as negotiations are still going on between UK and the European Union countries it is to be hoped that a deal will be reached which can be beneficial to students from across the world.
